authenticatioan problem with wifi on android tablet

I'm having trouble connecting with my tablet. I keep getting authentication problem. What can I do? It hasn't asked for a password. It just tells me authentication problem.

Whatever it is, it has a wifi setup dialog and that lists all wifi networks in reach. If you select yours, it will ask for the password/code.

When I pick mine, it comes up with signal strength, a security code and cancel, forget or connect. When I pick connect, I get authentication problem.
