avast cpu usage when downloading

so i noticed that avast uses around 25-36% cpu when im downloading a game on steam, can i disable that it scans or what the hell it does when i download?

That actually sounds like a bug, assuming your machine has reasonable CPU speed this shouldn't be spiking so high. If you like Avast, contact their support team - i've found them to be very helpful in the past.
