Avast + Malwarebytes + Personal Firewall?

So I have Avast and Malwarebites installed on my computer, and I've read that I should set up a personal firewall. Could somebody explain the benefits please and suggest a good one please (preferably free)?

Windows already has a free firewall on it, which should be enabled by default (unless you told it to be turned off).

The benefit is that it's meant to help prevent outside programs from intruding on your system through your broadband connection -- not the stuff that you deliberately browse to or download, but just attempts to hack into your system.

I would go with Malwarebytes and Avara. Avira is better than Avast. And Windows does have a firewall preinstalled
