I'm posting this from I iPad because currently I can't get on my PC. I recently upgraded from Windows 10 from 7 for free. The download went smooth played a couple matches of battlefront and called it a night. I had some razer updates and one avg Update that required a restart so I just shut down and didn't think about it till morning.

Next day I get off work and power up the PC and Windows won't boot past this screen that basically says;
Avg WatchDog initializing. . .
It just sits at this screen and won't boot. I've gone online to avgs support forum and they had a recovery download that I could boot off of a flash drive, well I downloaded it and followed the steps and it wouldn't work. So I'm lost on what to do.

I have my Windows 7 fresh install disc but when I put it in my cd driver and manually shut down my PC and reboot it nothing happens and I just get stuck at this screen about the avg watchdog initializing if anyone has a solution I'd greatly appreciate it!

I had this same problem a couple of years ago and it turned out to be a rootkit virus. In my case and on another machine I downloaded a Kaspersky bootable image that was specific to that virus, burned it to a CD, and went through the steps to remove the virus from the infected machine. That got me a usable machine but I wasn't sure there weren't some back doors on the drive/registry so I backed up all the data - not the entire drive - just the data, formatted the drive, re-installed Win7, reloaded the application software, and copied the backed up data to the newly formatted drive. It was a pain but I haven't had a problem since.

So I'm dumb and forgot I can load Windows through f11 boot options. Thanks for the help I'm advance... Seems like AVG has screwed me and I'm just going try a Windows repair and if that doesn't work I'll have to wipe my hard drives and fresh install Windows.
