Does anyone know the differences between the two!?

"AMD TBIRD 1.4 GHZ@266 OEM- BLUE COPPER DIE(30 DAYS WARR)AYHJA-UNLOCK $183.95
AMD TBIRD 1.4 GHZ@266 OEM(30 DAYS WARR)AYHJA-SERIAL NO Yxxxxx $199.95"

My sig is better then your's!

One of them is the rare 'Y', the other one probably isn't. Don't worry about the fact that one says it's unlocked, most likely both are.

so because it is a rare Y that means what to me? lol.. does it get my beer faster then the non-Y chip? lol ....

My sig is better then your's!

buy both... see which is better

you do not strengthen the weak by weakening the strong

If it could get your beer, it would do it faster. Those chips are supposed to hit 1.7 rather easily.

All 1.4GHz T-Birds should be the AYHJA stepping, you could save a little on Pricewatch.

Video killed my Radio Card!

Right, but it's the 'Y' that is the difference.

so if i am understanding you.... even the oem versions of these chips are excellent?

Here's an equation to help you remember:
OEM = Retail - box - stock heatsink - cool sticker for case

OEM and retail chips are exactly the same thing.

Don't worry, it's not that great a sticker, and you can get better ones off of Ebay.

So is it worth is to pay the extra cash on the "Y" chip? Or is it only better if you think you may overclock? Or What?

What can I say?

checkout http://www.athlonoc.com, they have a chart of all steppings fastest stable oc (they probably tested a lot of chips and published the charts... so its all statistical data), and Y steppings do a fair bit well. your 1.4G did 1.66G average with them! you could go even higher with good cooling and core voltage control.

btw there doesnt seem to be any other than Y versions of AYHJA so rest assured, any chip you buy it will hit 1.6 to the least!

It's only worth it if you're going to overclock.
But don't pay TOO much more for it. $20 tops, I'd say. You can get one for cheaper elsewhere, or go to your local place and paw through them until you find one. I've done that a few times.
