[citation][nom]Silmarunya[/nom]Look at the iPhone's price. At such a steep price tag, you expect a well-engineered product with attention to detail. An antenna that doesn't work properly without an ugly case isn't exactly evidence of that, is it?And for me, Apple's efforts to deny the problem, hush it up and then say it's common in the mobile phone industry made it far worse. They made a mistake like every big brand has done at some point, but they weren't honest and frank enough to admit it and that's just weak...[/citation]

yeah, it was weak on their part, and they should have said something right away instead of all this backwards shit they are doing.

If you are buying any phone, whether it's a iPhone or Droid, to not put a case on the phone is just dumb. Why not protect the phone to make it last longer. I still use the original 3G iphone. The phone is still in perfect condition, even though it's been dropped a bunch of times. I'll wait for otterbox or switcheasy to come out with a case for the 4 before I buy one, and then I won't have to worry about an "ugly case" or have the reception issues.

[citation][nom]thebigt42[/nom]I want to know how many I Phones have been actually returned by unhappy customers?[/citation]

LOL Apple Fanbois giving up their Apple products? 😉 Are you kidding? They may not like the poor reception, but it's like asking a crack addict to simply return their crack....

I still think the Senator's letter is what tipped the iceberg.

[citation][nom]noodlegts[/nom]I think the easiest solution to this whole problem is to just cover the antenna with a little clear nail polish. If done right it should be almost invisible and fix the problem.[/citation]
I am sure everyone is gonna jump on the idea of putting ENAMEL on their new iPhone. Anyway, Steve Jobs is seriously proving to be a tool. Just to hear about a snide ass remark using Eminem as the fulcrum is just sleazy.

[citation][nom]rantoc[/nom]Best solution, dont purchase it - Get something that works![/citation]
and if you are a real hater and serious about it:
-buy one
-complain about the antenna
-return it (but keep the headphones they won't check)
-become a part of the statistics against the phone
-make the waiting line longer for fanboys
-put refurbished iPhone 4 on the market faster
-Cost Apple some money
-gives you a prop for a couple of days to show people how lame it is.

only drawback... you might change your mind after using it for a few days and keep it.

Just grab a band-aid at work for free it's in the medicine cabinet. They're everywhere. I don't think Band-aid cost $4.99.

Best solution - get your head out of your @ss. It's a good phone, it works well. So do the droids, so do blackberries. Not everything in life is a game of win or lose, or black or white. It IS OK if multiple phones exist together and all of them work well. Why do news companies/blogs and people with nothing better to do always try to single out a good guy, bad guy and then endlessly pour nonsense criticism until it gets old?
