Question Battery problems with my dell latitude 5511

Just bought a latitude 5511 yesterday and upon taking it home I discovered that the os Installed is windows 10 from 2019 so I tried updating it but in the process the battery went from 90% to 6% in an instant and then went off on its own then I was thinking that I got scammed so I ran a battery check using the BIOS and it said the battery was made just 3 weeks ago and also it was "excellent " and I know that impossible so my first thoughts were the laptop has been tampered with or the battery is dead so I turned it off but I woke up the next day to turn it on again and it was 0% and I decided to use it at 0% and it lasted over 2 hours before I shut it down so I'm really confused if the battery is dead or is it a software issue . Please help 🥲

Sounds like a defective battery that needs replaced.
