My brother has been looking for a new computer for a while now, and he has been trying to find a laptop/notebook. He is looking for a decent gaming laptop with 1080p display and decent battery life(around 2-3 hours). If anyone knows a laptop/notebook that is around $1000 please leave a link.

lenovo y40 is a good place to look, and with sales it ends up being sub-1000 (don't buy unless its onsale, they are frequent, and keep an eye out for coupon codes, business or student discounts). Is pretty thin and has good battery life for being a gaming laptop. The only issue he might have is its graphics card is (maybe, depending on your standards) a little weak. If he's willing to jump up to 1100, the y50 is a good option (stronger graphics, backlit keyboard), or the asus g550jk or the equivalent in your country (g55JR for europe?). he could also go after some old gaming laptops that use some 700M series chips (but still strong) get pretty cheap, like MSI and (if youre lucky) a Razr Blade.
