Best fit for RCA tv and Samsung DVD player

I have an RCA 42" tv and a Samsung DVD player. What would be the best fit for a sound bar, and what kind of converter cables will I need?

Check what audio outputs the RCA TV has.
It might have HDMI-ARC, digital optical or coax SPDIF, headphone, or line level analog audio output.
Make sure that the soundbar has the correct input. ARC or SPDIF digital would be best for sound.
The DVD doesn't figure into your choice as it connects directly to the TV in most cases..
