so your budget is what? in $USD

i'm not going to recommend anything below $50usd as its extremely hit or miss. from all the many sets i've used none has impressed me at all. perhaps if you can get a budget pair of sennheisers it might be okay. i know they make cheaper models and come oft-recommended on audio forums.

personally i prefer my audio-technica ath-m50s but its probably out of your price range unless you find a good online offer. i've heard feedback of people getting them between $80-180usd depending on where they shopped.

Agreed but Stax are electrostatic and require a special preamp. Maybe some high end Grados or Sennheisers would do?
