Best laptop for my needs

Im wanting to get a laptop but im having trouble deciding. I want a slim and small laptop that would be nice for school and travel but i also want something powerful. Im looking to spend $1000 to $1200. Please give me some suggestions

Those are way to thick, im wanting a small and slim laptop.

Yes, I was thinking a dell xps 13 with the i5 config and and 128gb ssd then possibly buying a 480gb m.2 sdd and putting that in. would that be worth it?

I would get the better cpu and more RAM first, adding another ssd is simple enough.
