Best Laptop for my needs?

Hey guys, I am looking for a laptop. Ill just list my needs:

-Under $1000, (preferably between 650 and 800)
-Simple and Professional looking without all the crazy gamer designs (able to use at science fairs)
-Able to run Auto desk, Ide's and light gaming
-Lightweight and smaller ( around 13-15 inches)
-1920x1080p
-Really good battery for robot power tests and long day

I was looking at the ASUS K501UW-AB78 but I wanted to know if there is a better alternative. I have a PC for crazy gaming and large assemblies but I was looking for a mobile. Thanks and have a nice day

which is more important for you? CPU power or GPU power ? I saw you chosen one with GTX 960 ... such notebooks are very bad on battery life ...

Note that the laptops with the gtx 1060's are WAY better than the gtx 960's. The 10-series gtx cards in the laptops are basically equivalent to their desktop counterparts, whereas the 9xx series are the "m" cards.

It depends on your needs, you need to find the balance between performance and battery life. Look up some laptops with the gtx1060 and i7-7700HQ and look at the reviews and tests, see if the battery life is sufficient for your needs.

Get DELL XPS , 13 inch or 15 inch .. the latest model.

I recommend you go to Best Buy and gets some hands on and see the things you like. The price shop at like Newegg or Tiger Direct.
