My Creative sound blaster speakers+subwoofer are starting to wear out and I'm looking to get a good sound system to replace them; I'm not interested in headphones, I already have the Corsair Vengeance 2100, but I only use that for online play. For single player gaming I am a speaker man. My budget is ~$600. System specs in my signature.

If you're looking for real quality, how about an amplifier and some bookshelf speakers? You could get quite a quality system for that kind of budget.

For speakers I would recommend Energy CB-20, PSB Alpha B1, or Klipsch Synergy B-20.

A high quality amp like the Yamaha R-S201BL would be very happy driving any of these speakers, and a system like this will never wear out.

do you have your pc hooked up to a receiver, or do you have a decent sound card?

if not, save your money and get some maudio av40, because it's not worth dumping more money into them. and i believe even those speakers would be way too much :D

if you have a sound card, you can step up a game a bit, and go for powered speakers like for krk rokit rp5.

if you have a receiver, you can add your own passive speaker as you feel fit - like polk audio...

No I don't have a sound card because there is no room for it on my motherboard without blocking GPU fans.

I'll give these a go I think, I have a $300 portable Bose speaker that I take with me when I travel that is pretty good, so I imagine these must be even better.
