What are the best speakers for listing to music for around or under £150. I don't don't know much about speakers and all the different kinds you can get.

Preferably red themed but isn't important, good bass and control box included if possible as they are expensive separate.

I was looking at:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mackie-CR4BT-Monitor-Speakers/dp/B017LVUGUY/ref=s9_simh_gw_g267_i7_r?_encoding=UTF8&fpl=fresh&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=&pf_rd_r=DPK7C2S7EPG95SMWJFR4&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=16f14aeb-bd11-4e9e-8c26-9ca0139074ee&pf_rd_i=desktop
(heard they are not that good for listing to music only making)

Thanks

Solution
I've had these for 2 years hooked up to my computer and they're great. Great bass and fine sounding mids and highs for the small looking satellite speakers.
The right speaker must be connected to the subwoofer with an attached cord approx. 2 1/2 meters long and the left speaker attaches to the sub, in which the amp is located, with a standard 3.5mm audio plug. Sub attaches to composite sound out on the computer sound card with a 3.5mm plug.

ok but these are slightly too much as won't i have to buy a subwoofer to go with them?

not necessarily, many times a sub is there to hide the lack of base from the other speakers, with properly designed speakers this is less of an issue. The sub is often a bit of a blunt instrument as well.

so you only need a 2 speaker not a 2.1 speaker

Solution
2.1 just allows for a discrete sub signal, do the sources that you have have a discrete sub signal, i.e. are you listening to 5.1 downmixed to 2.1? or just stereo with the sub filtered out? With full range speakers the filtering is not necessary. The best way is to go and hear some... unfortunately.

ok ill have a look
