Better to Overclock or Attempt Core Unlock for Gaming purposes

I'm just curious on what the general consesus is, for a gaming rig. Would you rather have an overclocked processor or attempt to unlock multiple cores? I know some but not all games take advantage of multi-core CPU's, but most games nowadays require at least a Dual-Core. I have a Phenom II x2 555 BE. I know it has unlocked multipliers for overclocking and it can be unlocked, maybe? Just wondering what you all prefer? If you had the choice?

i would try to unlock it, more games are starting to support 3+ cores. and if you are lucky and get it unlocked you could OC it too 😉

^+1 I have my 550BE unlocked running 4 cores at 3.7GHz.
