Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro on computers

I recently bought the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro, I just a question about using it with a computer. Is there any AMP needed in order to let it work properly? Or does this depend on what motherboard you are using.

My motherboard is the Asus X-99 Pro.

I would say that using them with a quality headphone amp (or DAC headphone amp) would be better than any soundcard.
