Black laptop screen

My acer laptop doesn't want to display anything on the screen,its on I can hear the sound but the screeb is black. Please assist.

Well my friend I dont know which model u use but something similar happened to me 2 weeks ago I just waited around 30 mins and still no signal but leds were okey and I just repleace battery and after that when opens just hit f1 for 5 times and it just came to life. I know it sounds stupid but it worked for me just in case some laptops freezes when standby and it shows black screen,
