Bluray on or through my laptop

Like several others, I assumed the purchase of a Bluray Drive [LG BP325] would enable me to play Blurays on my MSI computer as well as using it for a link [ultimately] through my projector

apologies for my total lack of knowledge on the matter but does anyone have a solutions as to how I can watch Blurays on either?

You can't play it on the laptop, laptop only have output. As for the projector, connect the output from the player to the input on the projector

the LG BP325 looks like a standalone blueray player to me. this is meant to connect directly to your projector (or if using a home theater, ran to the home theater and then passed along to the projector)

it is not meant to be used with your laptop. if you wanted something for your laptop then it would have needed to be a usb blueray drive meant for laptops. then, you would need software which can decode blueray. then you could run hdmi out (if your laptop supports it) to your projector.
