Bluray player no sound to soundbar

I have my cable box hooked via HDMI to my TV, Soundbar hooked to TV via Optical cable. I get sound through the soundbar from my cable box without a problem. When I hook up my bluray player via HDMI to the TV I only get sound from the TV not the soundbar. What am I missing here? I have disconnected the cable box but still have the same problem.

Try going into the BD player audio menu and changing the audio output type.

I'm having the same problem and have tried changing the audio output type with no luck. Do you have any other suggestions?

go to TV option menu ---> sound ---> optical/SPDIF gate ---> choose it --->done . the direct will different depend on your TV model . Sorry my English is not good
