Boot disk error

I have a acer aspire I keep getting a "No bootable devic-- insert boot disk and press and key" of course there is no boot disk when I purchased this computer..

If you bought the laptop without an OS installed, you'll have to get an Windows (or other OS) DVD and install it.

you can boot from recovery partition if the HD is still alive (alt+f10 at acer boot screen)

If not you need to contact acer and buy recovery disk, but then again you will need to buy a new hard drive too.

Next time you buy a laptop, you have an utility to create recovery disk from within windows: do that first next time.
