Acer 5315 says boot manager missing on start up. I have no recovery or original install disc. Is there a way to recover the system or make it usable again without installing a new iS

If your OS is Windows 7, you can download a Windows ISO, or a System Repair Disk ISO, burn it to disk, Boot to the disk, and select Startup Repair.

Check you didn't inadvertently leave a USB flash drive inserted or plugged in, or that you don't have a disk in the optical drive. The PC may be trying to boot from one of them.

Maybe you can press a key (it is stated when booting up) and change the devices boot up preference order. Put your HDD first, or don't do that and just check there are no CDs in the CD-ROM either as well from USB devices plugged in
