Bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N900T from Ebay. Is it unlockable without subscribing to a plan from T-Mobile?

I have no idea what the firmware is. Still waiting for it in the mail. I'm really worried that I won't be able to unlock it and I was hoping to use ConsumerCellular because I can't afford T-Mobile's prices.

I contacted the guy and asked if he had any idea and he didn't know.

Also, I don't want to root because then I can't continue to update it without going through a lengthy unrooting process.

Do you have proof of purchase or can otherwise prove your ownership of the device? If not, we can't help you - sorry.
