Is it possible to get British BBC in the east coast US?

No. The BBC aimed at the British Isles is on a pretty tight beam.
There may be a handful of international BBC channels available though.

there are a few BBC stations that express vu offers and I'm sure I've seen
some with the international sats. try www.lyngsat.com and do a search
there.

Still, pure BBC that is available in the UK isn't available anywhere
much outside of the British Isles.

No, but if you have the proper MPEG2 FTA equipment configuration you can
receive the British Forces Radio Service on NSS-7. There are 3 services. One
is to the Atlantic/Cyprus area, one to the Falkland Islands and one to Belign.
Actually all three have the same global beam.
The Atlantic service carries the BBC "Live 5" which is a 24 hour
talk/music/sports/other broadcast service. I take the baseband audio signal
output from a dedicated MPEG2 FTA receiver set on BFRS from NSS-7 and input it
into a single channel TV modulator which is interfaced to my in house tv
distribution system to all my tvs. If I want to listen to the BFRS Atlantic
Service I tune any tv to channel 7, which happens to be the channel modulator I
am using, but any VHF or UHF TV modulator will work fine.

It is a relief and diversion from the same o same o US radio programing
available. Several nights ago I heard the Clinton/BBC interview (not that I was
looking for it) on that service at least a day before excerpts were available on
US radio/tv. Often there are subject discussions that are US based, and the
mix is interesting much of the time. The downside is that I have no interest in
listening about the various English soccer teams ups and downs. Fortunately,
that doesn't last very long. I also am not really interested in the current
traffic conditions on the A5 or M5 motorways and traffic accidents in Leeds or
wherever. But that's ok.
