Broken audio port

hi a while back i broke the audio port on my msi ge72 , and fixing it requires me to change the motherboard which as you know will cost alot of money , thing is the contact plates work whats broken is the plastic which holds them in place is there a way i can DIY this ?

There may be someone who is competent enough to MAYBE solder another socket onto the motherboard, but in the meantime, your best bet is to get a USB audio interface adaptor. Simply plugs into a USB port and will 'install' as an external sound card.

Most motherboards also have connector for front-panel audio.

In case you go with USB option, it would be wise to disable on-board audio from BIOS.
