I'm currently looking at buying a Lenovo Z40, which has a Nvidia GeForce 820M, and an Intel i3 processor for a small budget gaming laptop. I have someone who will sell one to me brand new for 360$. My budget is 400$, and all I'm looking for is a good budget gaming laptop with dedicated graphics.

I'm not sure if I should go with the Lenovo because the i3 is only a dual core processor. Any suggestions?

Below is a link to some benchmarks for several graphic chips and integrated graphics cores. Your current laptop has the Radeon R4 (Beema) graphics core and the Radeon HD 8650g graphics core is integrated in the A10-5750m. I have tossed in the nVidia 820m / 920m and the Intel HD 4400 / HD 5500 for reference...

Funny thing, that's the exact same laptop I have right now... The graphics card is trash.. I get 30-40 FPS on Left 4 Dead 2 on Low... :/

I've been looking at this one as well though http://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-IdeaPad-15-6-Inch-Laptop-59406417/dp/B00HIYA4F2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1405556722&sr=8-1&keywords=lenovo+ideapad+g505s but I think the graphics are integrated. However, according to Game-Debate, the APU in this computer is better than the GeForce 820M.. Can anyone help me confirm this?

The gt 820m is a very low end gpu and can only be used for low end gaming. As it is a low end gpu, an amd gpu maybe better as they tend to outperform the nividia counterpart in this low end price range. But don't expect to be putting the games at above med settings though.
