Build a Laptop from scratch

Does anyone know if there parts, cases etc, for building a laptop from scratch? With all the parts available for a PC build, I'm surprised there are no parts, cases, etc. for building a laptop. Any information or URLs would be appreciated.

Barebone laptops are fairly hard to come by. Laptops also aren't very customizable as many motherboards will only fit in a certain model of laptop. Some models even have the CPU/GPU soldered to the motherboard.

Desktops are very flexible by comparison. Almost all the parts will work together with the exception of some motherboard/cpu and a few other things.

I've looked into the option before and buying a laptop is the better/cheaper choice.

its doable.
but its more expensive than getting a different service like xoticpc or ibuypower to do it for you.
don't do it yourself, make them do it.
