Hello,

Im looking to make cheap build for Oculus. I choose RX 480 for it, but i need help with other peripherals. From my experience CPU doesn't really matter, so please recommend anything that is fairly cheap and worthy choose. I never know for MOBO's ... rest ill manage to choose myself.

Thanks

This should work well. You can change the storage, adding an SSD for example, but it's not necessary for VR. Changing to a Core i3 is possible, but makes only a tiny difference.

For Oculus you need either an Intel Core i5 or AMD FX8350. I think you can also look at the FX 6350. Below is a list of AMD test CPUs for VR.

The old AMD FX parts should be the cheapest. But the new Intel and AMD Ryzen CPUs will be more future proof.

Motherboard
You can get some cheap H110 boards for Intel or AM3+ for AMD.

RX 470 meets the minimum requirements for the Oculus rift. I would get the RX 480 though. Will give you higher frame rates and will work better for VR.

The Pentium chip has much better performance per core, which helps in games that don't utilize many cores well.

The motherboard I linked has out of the box support for the Pentium G4560, the H110 board may require a BIOS update to work. Also the B250 chipset supports slightly faster memory and more USB 3.0 (=3.1 Gen1) ports. The extra USB ports could come in handy with the Oculus Rift.
