Hi there!

I'm trying to decide between a Sager NP8678-S and an MSI Stealth Pro 006.

It seems like the Sager is more powerful than the Stealth Pro, but I do like how thin and light it is.

There are cheaper, older models on Amazon but I'm not convinced saving a few hundred dollars is worth losing a Skylake processor over.

I've glanced at dozens of brands, and I'm trying to find a skylake processor with a 970M over 3gigs (I'd prefer a 980 anyway).

What does the community think about these two brands?

Thanks!

Having personal experience in the past with the GS70 870M I would make sure if you want a slim laptop it has 900 series GPU and skylake as the noise and heat was a serious issue. This is why the really high end 980M won't be on a super slim laptop.

I can't speak for sager but MSI had good build quality and lasted over a year untill I got a Razer blade.

I wouldn't make having skylake a priority as in terms of performance it won't be your bottleneck.

Thanks for responding.

I decided to go with the Sager 8678-S I upgraded the processor (i7 6700) to the unlocked (i7 6820K) model. It cost a bit more but a skylake and a 980 was just to sexy to pass up.

I wanted to overclock it and I felt the small cost of future proofing a little bit more worthwhile. 10% to 20% better. Plus it can clock to a desktop i7 6700 speed. Sounded good to me ha!
