I never said that. Try actually reading things.

Replay is better than TiVo (although I hadn't said that either).

What I said was about playing the files on a computer. VideoLAN
doesn't need CODECs. The stuff about the re-installation was to show
that I hadn't installed any.

But the text you quoted was me asking how something I'd posted proved
TIVO better than Replay... My point is that Replay is better and always
has been, this is why I bought Replay instead of Tivo

That seemed strange, so I went back and checked my reply. What I
replied to was about Replay vs. an ATI card. No mention of TiVo at
all. The last part of that was about CODECs. I stated that VideoLAN
did not require them.

I just bought two DirecTivo's for 100 bucks each. Plug 'em in, and they
_just freaking work_. It's an appliance. If I wanted (another) hobby, maybe
I'd consider building something that'd act as a crippled version of
a compromise of a Tivo imitation, but I've got better things to do. They
do it well, and you'd be hard pressed to build a PC with video capture
for 100 bucks. There's probably someone out there who has, but not with
quality parts, I'll guarantee that.
