Built in Microphone not working when earphones connected

My laptop's built in microphone does not work when i connect the apple headphones with the mic on it.. I dont want use the earphone mic because it is not very loud and other cannot hear me when i use it with skype. I am using an acer aspire 5750g. Is there a way for to force the laptop to use the built in mic.

Remove your apple headphones when you want to use the built in mic don't connect anything to be able to make built in functions work. Just like the built in speakers, when you connect your earphones on your laptop you cannot hear out loud, instead you'd hear the sound onto your earphones. Same goes about mic
