I would like to buy a MacBook Pro, but I know the 2016 MacBooks will come out in Autumn.

When they come out, will the price of the current MacBook 2015 drop substantially to maybe half price?

At the moment, the MacBook I'm interested is the 2015 13 inch retina model which costs £999.

Is it worth waiting a few more months, and buy the better 2016 MacBook for the same price?

there always be newer, better model.
The only useful thing that i can think about and is missing in my MBPr 13 2015, is thunderbolt 3.
that only because it would be great for connecting external GPU.

When the new models arrive, of course they will have more features/power than the previous generation. Will it be significant? Doubtful, but time will tell. I don't keep up w/ the rumor sites.

I do know when the 2016's arrive, the 2015's will be marked down. They always have. But it's not "significant". Maybe a few hundred bucks. Nothing even close to half price like you are hoping. If that is your expectation, you are going to be supremely disappointed.
