Buying a gaming laptop for college

hi, like the title states im looking to buy a gaming laptop for college. Obviously ill be gaming but i also need something I can store a lot of work related things.

Ive built my own pc before but I know nothing about gaming laptops.

My budget is around $1200- $1250 USD.

Lenovo y50 comes to mind as a solid choice. find an i7 with a hdd and a ssd and you'll still be under your budget.
