Buying laptop from outside

i am buying Alienware m17x laptop through my friend in US because of outdated configuration available here in India and it will also cost me less. Is there any warranty plans I can avail to avoid any problems as I have heard that alienware/dell provides you with poor customer care service system?

Actually the new model is call alienware 17.no more m17x.if where you live have a dell centre,there should be able to provide assistant if urs have an international warranty.i bought mine of a local store just to be on the safe side.Also try asking first from where you are buying if they have support in india.

I suggest u take the Extended and accidental damage warranty since u are not buying locally.
