Buzzing sounds when music is paused, connection is on board sound to RCA receive

I recently bought new home speakers. I have always streamed from my PC to my RCA receiver. With the new speakers I notice a buzzing noise when music is paused or in between songs. (i think the old ones were so old we just never noticed the sound) I bought a better cable for connection but the problem still exists. Just wondering now should I buy and internal/external sound card would that fix the problem? Or would I be better off finding a Roku or something to use with my receiver? The receiver is also older so it is not wireless, nor does it have any USB or HDMI slots. However, I know it is not the receiver as it does not buzz when I am using FM stereo channels for example.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
