Hi guys,

I'm looking into buying a camcorder through which I can record live 1080p video straight to my pc. I can look into buying a firewire or hdmi capture card if needed also. Thanks!

wouldn't a 1080p webcam work just as well and be a lot cheaper? im sure there are even usb3 full hd webcams about now.

Pretty much any modern day camera will work. He's connecting it to a capture card.

@OP How about a used 50D? Then hook that up to your capture card.

Sorry for the late reply, a webcam won't do because I need to zoom in about 10m (im filming a band on a stage). I don't currently have a capture cards, are there any cameras that will stream via usb/firewire. As for money as little as possible! £250 max!
