I an have a new camera card in a new Cannon camera.
After taking about 100 pictures, it stated it was locked on the camera screen.
It won't allow me to take any more pictures & I cannot access any pictures already on it.
I cannot view pictures previous taken, 1),on the camera, 2), at the developing machine in the chemist, 3) on the computer when I insert camera card into the reader
None of the pictures were printed or backed up.
The SD card is 8gb, I don't won't to lose the pictures already on there.
We have tried the little side switch already, it does not work.
I've tried the camera card in 2 other different Cannon cameras & it still does not work
Help please ?

Solution
Yes, when you format a card in the camera it is done through the menu system. You may not need to format between each Canon camera as long as they all use the same file system. Yes, formatting a card will cause you to lose the pictures you already have on the card. You will definitely need to format the card if you switch between camera makers such as going from a Canon to a Nikon or Sony or any other camera maker. It is important to format a new card in the camera before using it for the first time.

Recuva can be obtained from http://www.piriform.com/recuva
Photorec can be obtained from http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec
Not sure this will help but you could recovery software like Recuva or Photorec. For future reference all new memory vards should be formatted in the camera before the first use. Also the cards should not be switched between devices unless you format it each time you use it in a different device. Were the other Canon cameras the same model as yours?

Recuva or Photorec, where would I get these from ?
Noted, how do you format new card when you put it in camera ?, is it through the menu option ?
Hhmm, I regularly switch camera cards between that of mine, my mate & my cousin, they are all Cannon, but different models.
If I format card between each camera when they are swapped about, won't I lose the pictures already on there ?
