Camera phone to PC?

The official Verizon line is that all photos in the camera phones have
to be sent via over the air e-mail to get to ones PC. Obviously
people are going to find a way around this. I want to get a camera
phone, just for the gadgetness of it. But 95% of my time is spent in
Extended Network area (Mexico) on the North American Choice plan.
Sending photos via e-mail is not an option.

Which of the 3 camera phones shown on the Verizon Wireless website
(LG6000, SCH-A610, CDM8900) has an existing (non-official of course)
work around to copy the photos to a PC? Anyone?

d/l them to the pc.. not sure of the 610, my better half just got one and i
was going to buy a cable and try it.

This question has been addressed recently.

According the Verizon rep that I saw in person yesterday, there are NO
Verizon phones that allow downloading of images directly through a cable
to your PC.

There is a cable that will fit the 8900. However, as the author of
Bitpim already said, the software provided by Verizon is so fragile that
if you try to interface it with your PC the very likely result will be a
permanently inoperable phone.

Sadly, I recently signed up with VZW and have FOUR 8900's, with
essentially useless cameras.

BitPim works really well with the LG VX6000. I don't know about the A610
as I don't have one or access to one. The CDM8900 stinks, but providing
you don't write to it, you will be able to download the images. (You
have to use the filesystem view and do it all manually).

Technically that is true. None of them have a "sync protocol" for
getting the images. In most cases, they only have a sync protocol
for the phonebook, not even the calendar.

But all it takes is one determined person ...

i download pictures off my 8900 daily using bitpim and curitel drivers. i
dont use any of the other phones info but the camera/photo folder... my
phone works great. bipim will not upload anything because it is not
compatible but it will take pics off the phone.

I have the LG VX6000, Bitpim (THANK YOU!) and a USB straight through
cable. I use the phonebook, TXT messaging and calendar extensively and
take pics occassionally. Bitpim works fine for my phone uploading and
downloading everything including backing up the entire file system. I
do use a version of Bitpim made especially for the 6000. I can't
remember where I got it but I can sure send it to you if you want. Of
course, your mileage may vary.

This week I dropped my Pix Messaging from my calling plan.

All I can tell you is it works for me.

Incidentally that "special version" was not made by anyone
on the development team, and IMHO is a borderline license
violation anyway.

It is also based on 0.62. The 0.7 code is way beyond that.

I would appreciate a copy or a link to where I
can find this version.

Thanks,

This I did not know....
I will be going to version 0.7.

Blu:
I'll see if that version works for my phone (don't know why it
wouldn't?) and post back if you like.

I use Susteen's DataPilot (www.susteen.com) and a USB cable for an LG VX6000
and it works great. Downloading and uploading images is the same as a flash
memory device plus it does address book, ringtones, and will act like a
modem. DataPilot supports many phones.

I have installed v. 0.7 and now my 'puter says I need "library32.dll"
which I cannot find. I think I should know this but can anyone tell me
where this DLL is found?

Thanks.

There was one build several releases ago available for a few hours that
would say that. Try the latest 0.7 build from bitpim.sf.net
