[citation][nom]rdhood[/nom]Oh man, there is SO much WRONG with this statement... let me begin here: http://hd.engadget.com/2006/12/09/ [...] reen-size/For the graph-impaired: for a 37" 1080p set, you MUST sit less than 5' from the set to see 1080p. If you wanted to sit 8' away as the clueless restatement3dofted suggests, you need a set AT LEAST 52" to START seeing the benefits of 1080p, and 70+ inches to see FULL benefit of 1080p.[/citation]

Thank you, thank you for saying it first. So many people don't realize that and hey if it makes them happy so be it, but if you pay for it, you might as well enjoy it to it's fully potential.

NOw, why would I watch Avatar again? I made the mistake watching it the cinema. Ok, the 3D part wasn't bad but the movie sucked donkeyballz!!! I wouldn't watch that movie again even if it was projected on the bum of the hottest super model!!! (ok, maybe I would. But only in THAT case!!)

[citation][nom]Nightsilver[/nom]" Instead, the Blu-ray and DVD hitting the streets next month will feature nothing but the movie and accompanying menu, making full use of the discs' storage in order to achieve the highest quality."Epic.[/citation]

Interesting... this is what Supabit DVDs were for, and they bombed. Shame, really.

Let's face it - Avatar's story is childish and lame, so the only reason to watch it would be 3D effects. And no, you won't get them on nail-size display of your phone.

Well, Mr. Cameran. You can be rest assured I won't be watching Avatar on my phone or my laptop.

In fact, I refuse to watch your movie at all!

You think he gives a s*** ? He's making billions.. and couldn't care less if some pesky egotastic moron threats to boycott or simply just avoid his blockbuster.

Hey wait a minute. Since when was this even an issue? Are you going to tell me that there is a sizeable amount of people that will watch avatar ONLY on the iphone. As in they won't also watch it on their regular tv? So people that can afford iphones can't afford a tv? This is not a problem!!
Now if he said something along the lines of, you shouldnt watch it on anything but blu-ray on a good big HDTV with proper sound equipment otherwise your shorting yourself out, that might be a good point as the visuals and sound on that movie was just amazing.
Why do people make up issues out of thin air??

[citation][nom]Rab1d-BDGR[/nom]So even the director thinks it is a gimmicky special effects movie that can't stand on script and acting alone. Glad I didn't go and see it. I might get a used copy on Blu-Ray, I'm tired of giving money to the MPAA.[/citation]

well u dont give money to the mpaa, u r giving it to the studios. and the studios give to the money to thousands upon thousands of ppl. (ie, directors, actors, editors, sound designers, production designers, and dozens of other jobs dealing directly with pre-production, production, and post-production. then you have your finishing houses that includes companies like technicolor who finish and clean the picture and then companies who finish the audio and companies who who make the trailers and tv spots and movie posters).

:)

The fool thinks he is so confident people will continue watching this thing several times over. Once you get over the amazing CGI, the story is flat and boring. There isn't much substance to Avatar beyond the amazing visuals. In a way he has a point but until you Mr Cameron invent 50" screens that are portable, telling people how they should watch your overrated film is quite pretentious! I guess he is afraid that when you watch this on a less than perfect screen, you begin to focus more on the plot and less on the scenary which on a smaller screen is not as stellar. So he is afraid people will see the beholder behing the Avatar's beauty.

Well James I wont be watching it again at all, not because of the 3d or pretty landscapes, but because it had the most retarded storyline of a movie I have ever seen. The only reason people watch it is because of the 3d, and pretty pictures. Not only that but I think you personly should come to my house and give me back my 25 bucks.

[citation][nom]realitycheck_18[/nom]If it's dumb then he's saying his story isn't worth watching, that he's just creating cool graphics.[/citation]

The story is carried in characters, and because it is, the iphone screen does not allow you to see the emotions on actor's faces clearly.

Emotions come better across when shown on big screens. It should be 37" TV sitting close by to experience it well.

If you feel the need to whip out your iPhone and start watching "Avatar" during a 15-minute wait to see the doctor, I can't even begin to fathom how boring your thoughts must be.

Its not the size of the TV, its how you use it...

Oh wait, it is the size of the TV AND how you use it :)

Agreed with James Cameron
