Can’t get DVD player and tv to work together , don’t know what channel I have direct tv

I plugged in the yellow red and white cords now where to go

Yoybplug these cords into the tv, not in the DirectTV box. On the TV, there's probably a button called "Inputs" or "Sources", look then for AUX, or Analogue In
