Can I add an internal hard drive to my HP computer if it already has a SSD 148 GB installed and I want to keep the SSD drive?

What are the expandable [strike]memory[/strike] storage bays' capacities and can it accommodate multiple hard drives (like SSD drive + an internal hard drive)? If so, what would be the maximum [strike]memory[/strike] storage capacity?

Also what would be the maximum RAM [strike]memory[/strike] and how can this be achieved?

MY COMPUTER IS AN HP PAVILION DV6T-7000 THAT I ACQUIRED FOR $450 WITH ONLY THE SSD DRIVE AND ONLY 8 MB OF RAM. I NEED A LOT MORE MEMORY AND WAS WONDERING IF I COULD JUST ADD A HARD DRIVE AND MORE RAM MEMORY (DIMMS) AND HOW MUCH OF EACH WOULD THE COMPUTER'S SPECS AND PHYSICAL SPACE IN THE BAYS ALLOW.

USING CAPS SO YOU CAN SEE IT EASIER

LOOKING AT YOUR MANUAL .... IT SEEMS THE ONLY WAY TO GET A 2ND HARD DRIVE INTO YOUR MACHINE IS TO REPLACE THE OPTICAL DRIVE WITH A HARD DRIVE CADDY (~$12). 1'VE DONE THIS ON ONE OF MY LAPTOPS ... IT WORKS GREAT AND IS VERY EASY TO DO. IT HELPS THAT I HAVE A USB EXTERNAL DVD BURNER SO ON THE RARE OCCASION THAT I NEED TO USE A DISK - IT'S NO BIG DEAL.

THINKING OF THE RAM - I'M QUITE SURE YOU'LL FIND THE 8GB YOU HAVE IS IN FACT 2 4GB STICKS. THAT'S A BIT ANNOYING BECAUSE IT MEANS FOR YOU TO GET TO 16 GB YOU WOULD HAVE TO BUY 2 8GB STICKS. YOUR OTHER OPTION WOULD BE TO BUY 1 8GB STICK AND THUS HAVE 12 GB OF RAM. ON THE PLUS SIDE, I THINK IT WOULD BE VERY EASY FOR YOU TO SELL THE 1 OR 2 STICKS OF 4GB...

Your notebook should have 2 dimm slots, so you can have max 16gb of ram. As for another hard drive, you can either install it instead of cd/dvd in drive bay or ther should be free msata slot for ssd.

I'M SORRY YOU DON'T LIKE CAPS! I AM VERY DISABLED AND HARD OF SEEING AND HEARING. PLUS, I ONLY HAVE VERY LIMITED USE OF MY LEFT (NON-DOMINANT) HAND DUE TO 3 STROKES. CAPS IS EASIER TO TYPE THAN UPPER AND LOWER CASE AS I DON'T HAVE TO USE INITIAL CAPS FOR NAMES, PERSONAL PRONOUNS, ETC. AGAIN, I'M SO SORRY IF MY USE OF ALL CAPS OFFENDS YOU! I HAVE PHYSICAL DISABILITIES REQUIRING ME TO USE ALL CAPS. IF THIS IS DEEMED UNACCEPTABLE, I WILL HAVE TO LEAVE AND FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO HELP THAT IS MORE COOPERATIVE AND UNDERSTANDING OF MY DISABILITIES AND WILLING TO WORK WITH ME IN SPITE OF THEM.

I'M GLAD ABOUT THE RAM ANSWER. I'M UNCLEAR AS TO THE OTHER ANSWER. ARE YOU SAYING I CAN HAVE EITHER A MSATA OR A SSD DRIVE? I DO NOT WANT TO LOSE MY DVD/CD DRIVE, SO USING THAT BAY WOULD NOT BE AN AGREEABLE SOLUTION. I ALREADY HAVE THE SSD DRIVE; I WAS WONDERING IF MY COMPUTER SUPPORTED AN ADDITIONAL SATA HARD DRIVE IN ADDITION TO MY CURRENT SSD DRIVE. (SORRY IF MY USE OF ALL CAPS OFFENDS YOU! AS I EXPLAINED TO THE MODERATOR, I HAVE PHYSICAL DISABILITIES REQUIRING ME TO USE ALL CAPS. IF THIS IS DEEMED UNACCEPTABLE, I WILL HAVE TO LEAVE AND FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO HELP THAT IS MORE COOPERATIVE AND UNDERSTANDING OF MY DISABILITIES AND WILLING TO WORK WITH ME IN SPITE OF THEM.)
