That would be nice most definitly for some of these 17 inch gaming screens but allas the HDMI on laptops are only for output.

thanks that really sucks. we just moved 1300 mile in a grand prix and the damn tv was to big for the car. and all we got is this like 13 inch tv that is probably as old as i am and we dont have the color cables for it. are they expensive? im dying with out c.o.d.3

If you have composite or S-Video cables for your PS3, you can get cheap USB video capture box (circa $30) and use laptop as a "TV". Quality won't be something to call back home about, and there will be probably some lag, but it is something worth trying.
