Solved! Can I program my directv remote to work LG tv by itself

I would like to use DirecTV remotes to program tvs without DirecTV boxes.
Thinking of cutting the satellite and going to utubetv.
The DirecTV remotes seem alot higher quality then the factory tv remotes!

Are those remotes programmable to other devices? If they are then yes you can program to the TV, if not, then can't.
