Hi all

Can I run CS:GO on this laptop?

HP ENVY 17" 1090eo - from 2011

Specs.:
Core i7 720QM / 1.6 GHz - RAM 8 GB - HDD 500 GB + 500 GB - DVD±RW (±R DL) / DVD-RAM / BD-ROM - Mobility Radeon HD 5850 - Gigabit Ethernet - WLAN : Bluetooth, 802.11 a/b/g/n - Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit - 17.3" Widescreen Ultra BrightView TFT 1920 x 1080

And do you know if it helps to lower the resolution of the screen (not have it on the maximum setting 1920x1080) in the game?

Best regards

Solution
I would think you could handle high settings in 1920x1080 and get good framerates. That isn't all that old of a processor, and even though it has a low clock speed, it's still a solid performer. And CSGO isn't a particularly demanding game in the first place.

It should be able to handle it fine.

and yes, lowering the resolution increases performance, but you should first lower the graphics settings before lowering resolution.

The Mobility Radeon HD 5850 is rather old, but it should still be able to play CSGO at 1080p with medium settings and good frame rates. It's overall gaming performance would be somewhere in between the Intel HD 520 and Intel HD 620 graphics core.
