Can I set my critical battery hibernate to 1% ?

My new laptop is an Acer Aspire a315-51, windows 10, i3-7100u, 4 gigs RAM.

The thing goes into hibernation at 6% battery, can I reduce this to 1% safely?

Or will this reduce battery life?

It would reduce battery life, taking a battery to flat or very close to it is bad and probably will prevent hibernation. The laptop needs to do work to enter hibernation mode, I believe it backs up what is in RAM to the HDD. It needs enough power left to do this.

Also if you are getting to 6% frequently that too won’t be good for the battery.
