Can I switch to any other OS from DOS in laptop?

I have a Lenovo B40-70 with DOS as Operating System.This laptop comes with optical drive
So my question is can I install windows 7 in that Laptop later?

Assuming it meets the minimum specs, and assuming you have a valid Windows 7 install...yes.

A quick google search says that laptop came with Windows 7 or 8, drivers appear to be available for both.

How did it get DOS on it. Are you sure it's DOS, and not some alternative, like FreeDos?

Reason for asking such a silly question, I have a knowledge of desktop computers but I m new in Laptop world,I thought maybe laptop upgrades works different way than desktop ones.
Thats why I was confirming.
So no Problem at all, RIGHT?
 
It seems many laptops in India are sold with only FreeDOS to keep the price down.

You should be able to install Windows 7 or 8 as long as the manufacturer has the appropriate drivers for those OSes. How do you do it I am not sure. I assume FreeDOS comes with a DVD driver so that you can use the DVD drive to install Win 7 or 8 simply by inserting the DVD install disk.
