I usually update Windows, but when I did so on a test machine I found that MS is even more intrusive than on 10. I'm not planning to update for a few years. MS has said they will continue to update 10 for a while. You might want to just hold off. Maybe they will add full support for your processor.
Generally speaking this is not possible. Maybe in some rare cases, but there are issues with electrical compatibility, thermal issues and power supply issues. How much memory do you currently have installed? Are you running a SSD or hard disk?
Not much you can improve there. I'm not at A12 expert, but depending on the particular version, it's a pretty capable device. What do you want more speed for?
