Can i use 2 amp charger to charge device instead of 2.5 amp

The original charger of my laptop is of 2.5 amp, and it got lost, and now i have another charger which is of 2 amp, Can i use 2 amp charger....??? and what would be the impact of using 2 amp charger instead of 2.5 amp charger.

It will charge slower
if the output voltage and input piece is mechanically the same, you can use it.
