Can I use my laptop as a monitor for my gaming PC?

Basically I don't want to have to buy a monitor and keyboard, and thought that maybe I might be able to us my laptop.

Not likely. Very few laptops have a video input of any sort. Nearly all video ports on laptops are output only.

What make/model is your laptop?

I don't have my laptop with me now, but it's an ASUS runs on windows 8.1 but I can't say anything else at the moment sorry.

I am 99% sure (since I don't know the model) that you can not do as proposed. It is VERY unlikely that your Asus has a video input port. Sorry.
