Can I use an external (USB) AC adapter on my laptop, which has an older internal, non-AC wifi adapter? Do I have to disable the internal adapter? If so, can I do this from the Windows device manager control panel? Or do I have to physically remove the adapter itself?

can run newer wifi on any laptop as long as have drivers for your os if not installed automatically. old wifi can be turned off in the bios, sliding a switch on the laptop case, disable pressing the correct function button or disable not uninstalled in device manager.

thank you! Do I understand that I don't need to bother with turning it off in the BIOS if I can disable the internal adapter in device manager, or do I need to do both?
