Can not contact carrier network

I have Galaxy S3 Clone and puretalk sim (att network) the phone will recognize the phone number but will not connect to the network...If it put the sim in Motorola Atrix 2, it works fine...Is then phone defective or is there there some setting that needs to be made to make it work?

No buddy relax the phone need Access Point Name correction. Every device need a information from where to get internet 3g/4g and mms. Call to your mobile operator and ask them to give you settings for your APN.

p.s. some of the phones have stock APN settings but others must be entered simple and easy into the menu
